Why camera Wi-Fi says No Internet on iPhone

by FixoLab

A camera’s Wi-Fi access point is there so the phone can talk to the camera. It may not offer internet access, so iOS can display “No Internet Connection” while Pocket Tools still works normally.

Check the useful connection

Confirm the iPhone is joined to the camera’s SSID and that Pocket Tools can show battery or gallery data. The app uses the local link for thumbnails, downloads and live view. Internet browsing on that Wi-Fi is not part of this workflow.

If the phone switches away

A phone may prefer a home network or cellular data when it detects no internet on camera Wi-Fi. Return to Wi-Fi settings, rejoin the camera access point and reopen Pocket Tools. If pairing had not completed, first connect over Bluetooth and let the app guide the Wi-Fi step.

Plan large transfers

Stay near the camera, keep it powered and avoid switching networks during a download. Pocket Tools can resume interrupted full downloads, but a stable Wi-Fi session is faster than repeatedly reconnecting. Do not change router settings or expose the camera on the internet to remove the iOS warning; it describes the camera network’s intended isolation.
